The Cockroach And The Waiter
A lesson on how to deal with life’s problems
A group of ladies sat down for dinner at a downtown restaurant. Dressed in all their finery, they were having an animated discussion when a cockroach suddenly flew from somewhere and sat on one of them.
She screamed and jumped up, desperately tried to get rid of the cockroach by doing a Saint Vitus dance. She could not bring herself to brush the cockroach off her shirt.
Her reaction was highly infectious. The other ladies stood up and watched in alarm, each one expecting to be the next landing pad for the cockroach.
The lady finally managed to push the cockroach away but …….. it landed on the lady next to her. It was her turn to continue the banshee wails and incoordinate movements. None of the women next to her could gather enough courage to help her. The cockroach had a fun time jumping on each one of them.
Hearing the commotion, a waiter rushed forward to their rescue. Seeing a crisp, new shirt coming up, the cockroach fell upon the waiter.
The waiter stood firm, composed himself and watched the movements of the cockroach on his shirt. When he was confident enough, he grabbed it with his fingers and threw it out of the restaurant.
